Part Two: Secrets Of Building MLM Downlines

Business opportunities and lovers, we want them the most when they are leaving us. “The fear of losing something we have is greater than the fear of losing something we could have.” Part two, covers one of your biggest MLM tools, the fear of loss and how to apply it.

Of all the business opportunities I’ve been presented with, I’ve wanted them the most just after the presenter had left. On occasions the opportunity wasn’t for me or was it?

I may have felt they they just wanted to sign me up and get me off and running for them. Kind of like being shown a shovel and pointed in a very general direction of the gold diggings.

Perhaps the hardest part of working any MLM is deciding to pick up the shovel and making a start.

How can you help people make a decision to join you?

How can you get people to join once they’ve already decided not to?

How can you get prospects off the fence of indecision?

How can you turn a turn-down into a turn-up for the books? Read on:

As with any sales, every sales person gets a “YES” after a certain amount of “NO’s, When the “YES” arrives fill out the membership form but leave the sponsor part blank.

Take the newly signed application and go back to one of the people who didn’t sign up. Show them the signed application form. Tell them that you have to get the application in quickly and that if they join you’ll place that person under them. “Are you in or out?”

Assuming that they or the next person signed up, take the now two applications to the next person and offer those two members as an incentive for them to join. “I’ll put these two under you if you can join now, I have to get the applications in today. Are you in or out?”

Then take the three applications to the next person and so on. Waving those applications is probable just the right amount of justification that they need to get off the fence and join your team. If they don’t join they will lose those members and all the members they bring in.

The last few people you go to with the applications are the people you want the most. The people who can bring lots of people and or the people you would just like to help the most. You know who they are.

With this method timing is important, people won’t wait forever and you need to get the applications in.

1. With your MLM company, how long does a new member order take to arrive at their doorstep after the application is faxed or sent in?

Let’s say it takes three (3) days.

2. Let’s say you want to use this recruiting method for four (4) days from the day you signed up that first application.

3. Add the above and you have one week.

4. Tell all your new members that their products will arrive within 10 days.

If you use this method for four days, get the applications in, then the products should be delivered to all within one week and the new members will be happy to have received their orders so early. They all thought it was going to take 10 days.

Once you have used this method successfully, keep doing it, and more importantly teach it to your new people. It makes the tough work to get the first person a whole lot sweeter

After you get the first person, go flat out, the clock is running!

Remember, “If at first you don’t succeed, avoid skydiving”.

Part three in this serious will discuss how Japanese MLMers work their business. Japan has the most MLMers per population in the world. Part three will also pull parts one and two into a higher gear.

iPhone Tips and Tricks: How to Get the Most Out Of Your iPhone Experience

All of us folks who are lucky enough to already have an iPhone know how much fun they can be just to play around with. Playing with my iPhone a lot myself, I have discovered some cool tips and tricks that you may find useful.

1. If you tap once at the very top of the screen when you are on the internet, it will take you back to the top of the window rather than having to scroll all the way back up. A nice time saving feature.

2. If you set the font to the smallest size, you can read more in the internet window. An advantage of this is that when you want to click a link, you can pinch (expand) that area and the link will come up very large, making it much easier to click.

3. Rather than posting the full address of internet sites in bookmarks, you can post the equivalent RSS address instead into Apple’s RSS reader and save that as your bookmark. This way you can quickly see if there’s anything interesting on your favorite site rather than downloading the whole homepage.

4. If you are writing something and the iPhone flags a word as misspelled that you know is not misspelled, cancel the correction 3 times and the word will be put into the dictionary. If you write a lot, this feature is quite useful!

5. The magnifying glass is a nice iPhone tool when you are typing an email or any other text. If you tap once and hold, a magnifying glass will pop up showing you a zoomed in view of your words and cursor. You can now easily place the cursor wherever you want. This makes editing your writing very easy.

6. You can move icons around, but not on the home screen. You have to go to the ipod section. Go to iPod > More > Edit. Now you can drag your icons all around. This can also be done in the phone section.

7. To reset your iphone, hold down the right button and the “home” front button for about 6 seconds. To power it back on, push the top button. This is different than a regular shutdown, which can be done easily by holding the sleep/wake button for 6 seconds.

8. If you get a lot of spam e-mail or other unwanted e-mail, pay attention to this time saving feature. Add a link to Yahoo mail in Safari bookmarks. From there you can check ‘delete all’ to remove all unwanted e-mails. This is much easier than deleting hundreds of spam e-mails one at a time.

I hope you found these iphone tips helpful. If you have an iPhone and have been wondering how best to fill it up with music and movies, check out Top iPhone Downloads for the latest reviews of iPhone download sites.

Don’t go on a Lousy Golf School Vacation - Here’s How to Choose Correctly

I love golf! Don’t you? I’m not very good at it but I will play as often as I can and I play every chance I get. The thing is I live in Chicago. So playing year round is not always possible — at least not in warm weather unless I go South. But where do I go? There are so many great golf courses and life so short.

I decided to write this article because in my passion, I have found 4 very important questions to ask that will insure you will find thd the perfect golf vacation. Be careful. I have made some mistakes in the past because I did not do my homework in advance.

Golf Schools come wrapped in shiny packages with fancy trimmings. Be careful not to go for the first golf vacation you hear about. Do some reaearch and find the right golf package match for you, your habits, your style and your golf game.

So, how do you know which golf school vacation is right for you? It’s simple. How much do you know about yourself? Be honest. This is your nickel.

1) What do you want to achieve?

2) How committed are you to your game?

3) Is your goal to have fun and drink with your friends without the wives around?

4) Or are you dedicated to improving your game for the coming season on this golf vacation?

Try asking yourself this: When you think of a golf vacation, which comes first for you - the golf or the vacation?

Some golf schools demand your entire focus. Other golf schools understand you need time to relax and scope out other activities. So know if you are looking more for the golf or the vacation.

If I’m planning a trip to a Maui golf school or going out to Las Vegas for golf instruction, I’m thinking there’s a pretty good chance I’ll be checking out the local sights and entertainment.

If you’re like me, you’re going to find a school that offers half-day instruction. Train your skills first thing in the morning, get a bite to eat (usually included in your tuition), then see how you feel. Hit the casinos, beach or the golf course in the afternoon.

Like I said, I stink at the game but I do have some experience. Are you a new golfer or could you hit the PGA Tour?

Beginners should check out golf schools that offer low student-instructor ratios. A 5:1 ratio or lower is the best for beginning golfers. Most likely you want a school that limits class size.

Experienced golfers will need a school that offers on-course instruction. You might need your swing looked at in game like scenarios. Get your instruction on the course.

How do you like to learn? Your style might benefit from the attention offered by low student-instructor ratios. This may not be a necessity for an experienced golfer. This is totally up to your learning style preference.

How’s your short game? I can drive for show but when it comes time to outt for dough. (Maybe I shouldn’t have told you that) Do you have a nice low handicap but your golf game goes in the tank 90 yards from the pin?

You need to find a golf school that concentrates on training your short game and course management. If your golf swing is basically sound, pick a golf vacation school that focuses the majority of your instruction time by getting you out on the course.

The golf training market is very competitive. If you want the very best, find golf vacation schools that will focus on individual aspects of your golf game. Comparison shop. (Isn’t this why the internet was invented?)

In the time it takes for me to get out of a sand trap, you can find a golf school that will help you shave a stroke or two off your already low handicap. Or in my case, keep me from embarrassing myself in front of my friends.

Some other real quick questions to ask at a golf vacation school: Is lodging included? Are meals included? Does the tuition include rounds of golf? You can find a whole batch of information about all the golf vacation schools at http://www.universalgolfinformation.com

Focus your honest answers to the 4 questions above. Whittle down your decision to three or four to fit the style of golf training where you will do your best. Then pick the golf vacation school that offers the best package. Remember — it’s your nickel.

Joe Rogers, Jr. loves golf even though he stinks at playing. He has been very successful in business so that he now has time to devote to his folly. He has written many articles like this available at http://www.universalgolfinformation.com.

Work at Home Scams

The Internet is full of ads for work at home opportunities promising you thousands of dollars a month for staying at home while doing little or no work. If you are struggling financially, as so many people are, these ads sound like the answer to your dreams.

If you are thinking about investing your time or money in any of these ads, proceed with caution. Not all work at home opportunities deliver on their promises. In fact, a large percentage of them are scams and should be avoided.

Most advertisements for these opportunities deliberately omit certain facts, including only the information that will draw your attention. There is no mention of how many hours you will need to devote to the program or what the total investment costs may be.

Many work at home schemes require you to cover the costs of placing newspaper ads, buying office supplies, etc. This is in addition to whatever start-up fee or initial investment is required. Many people lose thousands of dollars plus their time and energy because they fall prey to these schemes.

There are many of these work at home scams floating around on the Internet. Some of them are listed below:

ASSEMBLY OR CRAFT WORK: Most of these programs tell you how easy it is to produce goods for a company that promises to buy them from you once you complete them, thus earning you a nice weekly income. They fail to tell you how many hours are required in order to produce those items or how much of your money is required as an investment in equipment or supplies, sometimes adding up to hundreds of dollars.

An example of this is a company that pays you to make aprons. You need to either have a sewing machine or purchase one. You may also be required to buy materials to make your aprons. However, after you purchase the materials and equipment and perform the work required, you are not paid.

How can they get away with this? They tell you the work does not meet their “quality standards.” Unfortunately, no work ever done by anyone is “up to standard” leaving you with a loss of income and investment. If you want to sell the items you have made, you are forced to find your own customers.

CHAIN LETTERS: Ads for chain letters tell you to make copies of a certain letter and send that letter to people whose names and addresses are provided. All you are required to do is send ten dollars for a mailing list and labels. You are then shown a chart to see how you can automatically receive thousands of dollars.

In reality, the only people who ever make any money from chain letters are the ones who are at the top of the chain who, by the way, are continually changing names and post office boxes. The person who sends you the chain letter tries to pull you in by claiming to be a successful lawyer who does this on the side and who assures you that there is nothing illegal about chain letters.

ENVELOPE STUFFING: Ads for envelope stuffing have been around for years in various formats. The basic claim is that for a fee, you will be provided with directions to earn money from home simply by stuffing envelopes.

After you make the initial investment, you discover there was never any real employment offer. Instead, you are told how to place ads in newspapers, magazines, online classifieds, etc. The only way for you to earn money is if people respond to your ads.

MULTI-LEVEL MARKETING: Ads for MLM programs tell you how you can earn more money than you have ever had in your life. By joining their program it will be possible for you to let others earn money for you while you enjoy your prosperous lifestyle!

Multi-level marketing is a business based on direct sales. It is a solid, well-established, legal form of business that has provided profit for many people who have successfully sold products for reputable companies.

Many illegal pyramid schemes can resemble these legitimate MLM programs. The difference is that instead of selling a product, your primary goal is to recruit others into the program. At some point, everything collapses because the market becomes saturated and only a few people at the top have made money.

MEDICAL BILLING: Ads for medical billing are in newspapers, magazines, and on the Internet. The sales pitch says there is a crisis in the health care industry due to the massive task of processing paper claims. Since only a small fraction of the claims are fulfilled electronically, the opportunities in this area are huge.

Supposedly, doctors want to contract out their billing services to save money. This means you should be able to earn a sizable income working from home providing services like billing and accounts receivable. No experience is required and you will be provided with clients. Unfortunately, the reality is that you have to do the selling yourself.

Very few people who invest in a medical billing business are able to find clients and generate an income, let alone recover their investments. The competition in this market is brutal and primarily centers on a few large companies.

Before making any investments in any companies, ask questions, specifically regarding investment amounts and the requirements for running the business. Insist upon receiving contact information for references. Contact those references and speak to them, preferably in person.

If you invest in any work at home opportunity and find that it is not legitimate, contact the company and ask for a refund. If they will not honor your request, find out the physical address and contact information of the company. You can then make a complaint with the Better Business Bureau or your local Attorney General’s office. You can also find out if any other complaints have been received for that company.

Chris Chenoweth writes articles pertaining to health and nutrition, budgeting, and online business. If you would like additional information regarding work at home opportunities, learn how to earn a respectable income every month from legitimate online companies. You ARE required to put in some work but there are no hidden fees or investments required and you can start immediately: http://www.ezniche.com/data/article.php?l=352

10 Smart Ways to Start Your Medical Billing Business Without Investing Too Much Money

1. Start with a good business plan (you don’t have to hire a professional to do this for you, you are the entrepreneur, you have the ideas, so you can make your own business plan! You just perhaps need a guide on how you will present it. There are many free information available on the internet on how to do this!!) & proper registration, paper works for your business (you may contact your county’s Small Business Administration Office, they provide free consultation, guidelines and information on how to register your business!)

2. By now, you should know what software to buy (at least, that would be the software you are experienced and familiar with) —but DO NOT buy it yet!

3. You must market your medical billing service first before you purchase that software (it is safer to have a client first in hand before you make the purchase, this way, you’re sure you have a client before investing on the software— they’re expensive!). I suggest, you contact your own doctor & specialists that you visit, and your friends who are in the medical field who trust you and knows what you do

4. Find your first client. How are you going to do this? In the yellow pages, insurance companies website (you can access many of insurance companies’ doctors’ database even if you are not a member of that insurance company) and your friends in the medical field. Looking at the job ad in the newspaper or on any internet job site who needs medical biller is also a good prospect!

5. How do you market it? Send out newsletters, pens, calendars or any give-aways to the doctor’s office. But remember, it is best to convince the office manager about your service! Believe it or not, newsletter I think is most effective. Give them something they can read that shows them beneficial to their practice, especially on their cash-flow crisis!

6. Offer your prospect the most competitive rate (anyway, you are still starting and you need to prove your work-quality as a start-up business! - break even for the first 3 months is just logical)

7. Here’s the most important thing (if you can do it) — upon signing of “service contract”, ask for a start-up fee (to set up their practice’ database in your server) of at least $500.00. This will then be refunded to them on their 3rd and 4th invoice. If you send your invoice every two weeks, you will refund this start up fee on the 7th and 9th week (that’s approximately after 2 months!), fair enough? Right?

8. You have now a cash-on-hand of $500. It’s time to contact your billing software reseller and purchase the software. Let them guide you how to set up the software (this is easy to do!). If the software will cost you $1,000, you only had to pay $500 out-of-your pocket for that software because you have already collected $500 as a start-up fee from your 1st client.

9. Set up your client’s database on your billing software (you can upload their database and download it on your system!—take note of compatibility of their software!). Or if not, set it up, manually.

10. Start processing claims immediately!, deliver results! collect their money and make your provider very pleased with your service!

The above 10 smart ways are just my ideas. Trust no one but yourself. You can not imagine you can be victimized by scams! Read more, get more information. Remember, knowledge is power! There are no shortcuts to success!

Protect Your Computer

I will have to be first when I admit I am addicted to the Internet. Whenever I’ve got a spare hour, I love to just surf around as a form of entertainment. I have also found out about the world of download. I can take the best in modern music and DVD and watch or listen as I do whatever else I want. This is the kind of thing that absolutely anyone could become addicted to. Whatever entertainment you want for the cost of your Internet connection! Wow.

As perhaps you would expect, when I am online all the time I run into a few problems that I have had to deal with. When downloading, you are simply asking for problems when these files are not being scanned before you actually download them. I lost all information from my hard disk before, and that includes my financial records, my photographs and the all the games, and DVDs and music which I had downloaded along the way.

Before, I just had some anti-virus software called Norton which was just on my computer when I bought it. I thought it worked fine but occasionally some viruses would get through. Yes only occasionally, but this is not good enough when your computer could just crash at any given time. This is a problem that you have to tackle before some malware or spyware penetrates your hard drive or the internals of your computer. My friend’s PC just started switching off whenever it pleased as a result of this and the same thing could easily happen to you.

So basically what I would recommend is that you do not surf the Internet, then your current protection will probably be ok. However if you do, then you absolutely have to upgrade your virus package.

So now I don’t rely on any rubbish package for anti-virus protection. You simply have to update your as well if you want to protect your computer. Because the Internet changes every minute, so does the viruses that your anti-virus software has to tackle. That is why you need software which automatically updates itself via your Internet connection. Think about when a new virus pops-along. Will your two-year old package be able to defend your computer? I do not think so some how.

And other thing that you need from anti-virus software is something that will come with support functionality. Imagine when you realize that you have zero idea how to upload your software. You need a call-center that is going to ensure you can get it working on your computer. You should actually get software which directly meets your surfing habits. If you do not then you are just asking for problems to happen. Look at the software and ask questions. Will this be able to handle downloading from peer-to-peer networks?

Basically, if you spend your time online or even if you work from the Internet then you cannot afford not to invest in some quality anti-virus protection. Having some rubbish package is better than nothing, however things are far more sophisticated these days, and you really need something that is going to work. It is a wise investment, and think how much money you will save once you start downloading free stuff online?

It may not have the weather of the Caribbean or Dubai, but when it comes to the luxury of a high class hotel, no where does it better than Britain. From five star country house retreats to lavish London luxury, discover five of the UK’s best luxury getaways.

The Drawing Rooms, Builth Wells, Mid-Wales

Not content with winning a top accolade from the Good Hotel Guide, The Drawing Rooms in Builth Wells, Mid-Wales has also recently won the AA Restaurant of the Year award for Wales, too, and it’s easy to see why. Describing itself as a ‘restaurant with rooms,’ the Drawing Rooms is a beautiful five-star, two-rosette restaurant with rooms that originally started life as a Georgian country residence in 1725.

With a string of successful restaurants and hotels behind them, it has taken husband and wife team Colin and Melanie Dawson less than two years to have gained a formidable reputation for excellent food and service, most of which sourced in the local area. “There is an incredible range of fresh produce in this area, and it provides me with endless inspiration,” comments Colin Dawson, on his Mid-Wales location. Rooms are individually designed, with stunning bathrooms and underfloor heating, as well as flat screen TVs, DVD and internet access. In the heart of Wales, Builth Wells is a true rural getaway destination close to the Brecon Beacons National Park, where there are numerous walks and outdoor activities available. Take a two night midweek short break at the Drawing Rooms, complete with a three course evening meal, full breakfast, and tea with ‘Bara Brith’ on day of arrival from £180 per person. http://www.the-drawing-room.co.uk

The Manor House, Castle Combe, Wiltshire

Nestled in a beautiful village on the edge of the Cotswolds, close to the breathtaking Georgian city of Bath, is one of the most delightful hotels in Britain. The Manor House Hotel and Golf Club is part of the Exclusive Hotels chain and set within 365 acres of parkland, landscaped Italian gardens and river setting, the hotel is indeed a great place to get away from it all. The hotel itself dates back to the 14th century and the look and feel is in keeping with its lordly heritage. All 48 bedrooms in the Manor House and Mews Cottages are individually designed in a traditional style and are very large and spacious, with superb en suite facilities. The award winning Bybrook restaurant serves up an exquisite array of cuisine using fresh organic ingredients, while nearby places of interest include Bath, the Cotswolds and Lacock Abbey, used in such Hollywood films as Harry Potter, Pride and Prejudice and Emma. For Special Offers from £150 per room, per night, with a three course meal included visit http://www.exclusivehotels.co.uk

Ballathie House, Perthshire, Scotland

On the outside of Perth and gateway to the Highlands, Ballathie House is one of the best country house hotels in the country. Set within private parkland overlooking the River Tay, the hotel could not be set in a more beautiful country location: the building, dating back to the 17th Century still has many of its original features and gives off an elegant air to any visitor.

All 42 rooms are individually furnished with en suite facilities, and the hotel is a regular in the AA top 200 list. The restaurant, with lovely views over the river Tay, under Head Chef Kevin MacGillivray serves dishes that combine traditional Scottish classics with a modern twist. And wine aficionados will not be disappointed by the extensive wine list, which has a particular emphasis on claret, with over 60 current drinking vintages to sample. Nearby places of interest include Perth and the inspirational Scottish Highlands. Stay at Ballathie House for two nights mid week on a B&B basis based on 2 people sharing Sunday - Thursday for only £85 per person until 21st December, 2006. http://www.ballathiehousehotel.com

The May Fair Hotel, Central London

The iconic May Fair Hotel has just reopened after a massive £75 million refurbishment programme, which has seen the 80 year old hotel renovated from top to bottom. The renovation takes five star luxury to the extreme, and, not surprisingly for a 400 room hotel, the theory that bigger is best is evident throughout. The Crystal Room, which can seat up to 180 dinner guests at a time, harks back to the hotel’s glory days during the swinging 1920s and is lavish in the extreme - the crystal chandelier which hangs in the middle of the room is a massive six metres by three metres in size and is the largest commercial piece ever commissioned by world-famous Parisian design house Baccarat.

The chandelier alone is worth more than £1million. Elsewhere, the hotel also boasts London’s largest private cinema and a unique spa, which offers surely one of the most romantic, or messy, experiences the capital can offer in the shape of the ‘Cleopatra’ mud bath for two! For the real high-rollers, the May Fair boasts 10 unique luxury suites, all of which feature stunning London views, giant Bang and Olufsen plasma TVs and more. Superior Rooms from £295 per night, two-bed suites from a staggering £5,000 per night! http://www.radisson.com/mayfair

Hackness Grange, North Yorkshire

The Georgian Hackness Grange Hotel on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park overlooks its own tranquil lake set within private grounds. It is an out-of-the-way location ideal for lazy love-ins or outdoor adventurers looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. With just 33 beautiful en suite rooms, the hotel manages to maintain a laidback and quiet atmosphere too, and amenities on offer include: a heated indoor pool, tennis court, pitch & putt golf and mountain bike hire. The restaurant serves a contemporary menu and has excellent views of the nearby river Derwent. Local attractions include the quaint fishing town and home to Captain Cook, Whitby, the seaside resort of Scarborough and magnificent Castle Howard, setting for the acclaimed TV series Brideshead Revisited. Prices from £67.50 per person per night, including a full English breakfast. http://www.englishrosehotels.co.uk

Comparing The Playstation 3, Xbox 360, And Nintendo WII

Finally, they’re all here. The Xbox 360 has had the next generation gaming market to itself for a year. Now its two competitors, the Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii, are here. No more speculating about speed. No more guessing about memory. Now we can take a look and see exactly how they stack up compared to each other.

Let the console wars begin again.

Price

The PS3 has two configurations much like the Xbox 360. The PS3 comes in a $499 version that comes with a 20 GB hard drive and a $599 version that comes with a 60 GB hard drive; Wi-Fi; and memory stick, SD, and Compact Flash slots.

The Xbox 360 has two configurations. It comes in a $299 core version and a $399 version that comes with a 20GB hard drive.

The Nintendo Wii is the cheapest of the bunch with just one configuration that costs $250.

Processing Power

The Playstation 3 comes with its Cell processor. It’s a PowerPC based core that runs at 3.2 GHz that also have seven DSPs that run at 3.2 GHz. This configuration can do about 2 Teraflops.

The Xbox 360 has a Custom IBM PowerPC processor. This processor also runs at 3.2 GHz. However, Xbox went with a true 3 core processor compared to the one general processor of the Cell and seven additional DSPs. This configuration can do about 1 Teraflop.

The Nintendo Wii includes its Broadway processor, a PowerPC based processor running at 729 MHz.

Disc Media

Part of the reason the PS3 is so much more expensive than the Xbox 360 is because the Sony decided to include a Blu-ray drive on the system. The drive can play both Blu-ray movies and regular DVDs. The Xbox 360 comes with a DVD player and an HD-DVD add-on is planned. The Nintendo Wii uses a DVD drive; however, the system will not work for playback of movies, just Nintendo games.

Backwards Compatibility

The Playstation 3 is just like the PS2 was. You’ll be able to play both PS2 and PSone games on the PS3. Nintendo is taking things a bit further. Their system will be compatible with the Gamecube games and also the Gamecube controllers since the two systems use very different controllers. Not only that, but the Wii will also have the ability to download games from the original Nintendo (NES), Super Nintendo (SNES), and the Nintendo 64.

Sweet Features

If you want high definition gaming, then the PS3 is the way to go. It comes with a Blu-ray drive built in and can output in 1080p. Although the PS3 controller may look familiar, it’s had some updates. The controller is now motion sensing so in some games you’ll be able to move your character or fly a plane just by moving the controller.

The Xbox 360 was built to work with Windows XP media center. If you have a computer that already has media center on it, you’ll be able to view pictures, videos, and even recorded TV by using your Xbox. You won’t need to put your PC in your living room to take advantage of having a Media Center PC.

The Nintendo Wii decided to completely change the way gaming controllers are built. In the past, one controller was always held with both hands. The Wii’s controller looks more like a TV remote control than a game controller. It has a built in motion sensor so, for example, to swing a sword, you simply move you hand just like you were really swinging a sword.

Hopefully this review has helped you compare the three next generation gaming systems. Each has its pluses and minuses, and feature that are unique to it. Ultimately, your decision will likely come down to which system has the games that most appeal to you. And that is a decision that only you can make when deciding on a system to buy.

Understanding Chess Move By Move

It is so much to learn when you first started playing chess. These includes understanding the chess board, understanding chess move by move and so on. No doubt the more you take time to learn and apply the strategies you learnt, the better you would be in the long run.

With that said, it is worthwhile to understand chess move by move, both basic and special moves. In a game of chess, each piece moves in a different way. Normally, a piece can not pass through squares occupied by other piece. However, it can move to a square occupied by the opponent’s piece. When a piece moves to a square occupied by the opponent, it is said to ‘capture’ the opponent. Hence, the piece which is captured is eliminated from the board for the remainder of the game.

There are six different pieces in a chess game, namely - King, Queen, Rook, Bishop, Knight and Pawn. The King moves orthogonally and diagonally across only one square at a time. The Queen moves orthogonally or diagonally across any number of squares. The Rook moves forward, backward, left or right across any number of squares. Bishop moves diagonally across any number of squares. The Knight moves in two squares in one direction and one space orthogonal to it. It is the only piece which jumps over other pieces, the rest cannot jump over a square occupied by a piece. The Pawn can move only one square at a time backward or forward. However, if the Pawn is the first piece moved at the start of a game, i.e. if it is the opening move of the game, it can move two squares forward. The Pawn can move one square diagonally in front to capture an opponent piece. It cannot capture an opponent piece by moving forward straight.

Apart from the basic moves, it is also important to understand special chess moves as well. One such move is called ‘Castling’. This involves the King and the Rook. If the King and the Rook have not moved yet and all the squares between them are blank, then the King moves two squares forward, towards the Rook. At the same time the Rook moves the two spaces the King has just jumped over. However, this move cannot happen if the King is threatened or has to move through a danger square.

Another special chess move involves the Pawn. If the Pawn moves two squares forward on its first move, it can be captured on the square it has jumped over, as if it had moved only one square only, during the turn immediately after its two-square move. This can be done only by another Pawn.

Remember, the more you increase your undestanding of chess move by move, the better chess player, you will become.
